We must depreciate self before we can fully appreciate Christ!Luke 18:10: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a Publican. Verse 13: And the Publican, standing afar off, smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. Verse 14: I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: For everyone that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. The first step in obtaining salvation is to recognize our spiritual need and acknowledge that the Bible is right when it says, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked." Humility therefore, is truly a step in the right direction!
