BELIZE Subheading goes here! |

Belize Central America, a land of natural beauty with its untamed mountains and jungles. full of exotic animals and its many small islands glimmering along the second largest coral reef in the entire world and teaming with fish of all kinds.
Scattered throughout the country are many different people groups with their many different cultures and languages. Some high tech but many live in thatched huts throughout the jungle. The most common language believe it or not is English. This opens them to all the good and bad influences of the outside world. The whole country is in the middle of a huge cultural change, leaving the people a bit unsettled about their future. In the middle of all this change the gospel of Christ must be brought to the front stage where he rightfully belongs in all cultures or tragedy will be down the road a short ways.
We as a mission are committed to seeing that these multitudes are introduced to Christ and trained to follow his wise teaching in the Bible. Many have asked, " How do you go about reaching so many different cultures and people groups with the gospel?" It takes much intercession and thought to put together a good strategy that will literally change the way people think about life. When you look deeply into the life of Christ's earthly walk you will discover there was plan, a strategy that he was following. He was committed to finishing his job, so to speak, that he was sent here to do. If we as followers of Christ go into our earthly walk with this same strategy, expecting God our creator to give us direction and goals to meet, his strategy will be laid out before you plainly. Our job then is to simply commit ourselves to finishing the the goals God has set before us no matter what happens, never giving up until we can say, " It is finished."
Our God given goals for Belize are simple. We want to reach out and cause the kingdom of God to spread out across Belize and into the surrounding countries. This part is easy to understand, it is the great commission God has given to all Christians everywhere. The next part is where most Christians get flustered and do not know what to do, so they end up doing nothing. The real question is how can I express my faith in God in practical ways to influence my fellow man for Christ? For Belize, because the task is so huge , we've broken it up into what we are calling departments. I know it doesn't sound very spiritual , but its just to help us personally put our goals into reality and to explain better to you our strategy for reaching a nation full of various people groups. We create different departments of ministry for the different outreaches. We are recruiting and developing leaders for each of these departments. This is the only way we can effectively reach out in many directions at the same time.
Here is a list of the different ministry departments:
1. Calvary Commission Belize- Central American Headquarters.2. Institute Of Frontier Missions- We train new missionaries how to reach out in cross-cultural settings. The location of this school as well as our headquarters is in a beautiful 200-acre rainforest setting half a mile from the sea, in the northern part of Belize right in the heart of the Mayan Tribe.
3. Jungle Camp- part of The Institute Of Frontier Missions.
4. Tribal Ministry- Ketchi, Yucatec and Mopan Maya all live in the surrounding jungle. Our Tribal ministry is one of our main focuses.
5. Prison Ministry- Adult and Youth prisons.
6. Pine Ridge Camp- This is an after-care ministry for ex-offenders and people off the street who are serious about following Christ. This is located in the central part of Belize on another 200 acre camp with dorms and housing to handle up to 30 people.
7. Church Planting Ministry
8. Inner City Youth Programs, Royal Rangers, Christian Athletes Of Belize, City Youth Centers- over 50% of all Belizeans are under 18 many with no father figure in their lives.
9. Missionary Aid Program- This a program for people to come from 1 month to 1 year to aid one of our ministries.
10. Family Camps- ministry to strengthen families.
11. Medical Outreach
12. Disaster Relief Ministry- We have many hurricanes and floods. This is afast response ministry to share the love of Christ as well as food and clothing during a disaster.
13. Chinese Outreach- There are a lot of Chinese immigrating to Belize.
14 Short Term Outreach- One or two week exposure and ministry trips from one of our mission's bases to surrounding communities.
As you can see we cover a lot of territory, but as we break it up into ministry departments it becomes a feasible goal. A large portion of these departments is already happening. A few are presently vision.
Many people have asked me, "How can I help?" We always need more workers short term and long term. We need several good vans and of course money. More monthly income for general purposes to maintain what we have and larger one time gifts to buy building supplies, vehicles and etc.
God has amazed us over and over the way he guides and provides personnel, properties and finances for our various projects over the past 24 years of service. He usually uses people to touch people to spread his love throughout the earth. It's a big team effort on all of our parts, you and I working together to fulfill our destinies as servants of the Most High God.
